Contracted by the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services, the Nilandhoo Children's Home is a purpose-built residential care facility designed to provide a safe, modern living environment for children in state care. The project reflects Maalaa's growing role in public and institutional works across the atolls.
The build comprises residential wings, communal and learning spaces, staff quarters and landscaped outdoor areas — engineered for island conditions with durable materials sourced through Maalaa's own import supply chain, and delivered to government tender specification.
The main residential block topped out this week, keeping the project on its phased timeline.
Structural works advanced with the second suspended slab cast and cured.
Piling, foundation and ground-floor slab finished; vertical construction begins.
